Seeds of Light Publishing did not begin in a boardroom. It began in a doctor’s heart — with a question that would not let go: Why is it so hard to find children’s books worthy of the faith we are trying to pass down?
Every publishing company has an origin story. Ours begins with a mother, a physician, a woman of deep faith, and a growing certainty that the gap between what exists and what is needed in Christian children’s publishing was not just a market opportunity — it was a calling.
This is the story of Seeds of Light Publishing LLC — who we are, why we exist, and what we are building for Christian families, churches, and communities across the country.
Founded by a Physician Who Couldn’t Find the Right Books
Dr. Andrea Montague is a physician, a public health professional, a PhD, an author, and a mother. She spent years at the intersection of science, medicine, and faith — disciplines that many assume to be in conflict, but that she has always understood as complementary expressions of the same truth: that the world is ordered, purposeful, and made by a God who cares about it.
When it came to finding books for her children — books that honored both the intellectual standards she held as a physician and the theological convictions she held as a Christian — she found the options wanting. Too often, “Christian children’s books” meant one of two things: theologically shallow and aesthetically forgettable, or theologically sound but so inaccessible to young readers that they gathered dust on shelves.
She wanted something different. Books that were beautiful. Books that were true. Books that could be read aloud on a Tuesday night as family devotional and also handed to a child to explore on their own. Books that planted seeds — not just information — and trusted God to bring the harvest.
She decided to build it herself.

That mission shapes every decision we make. It shapes which manuscripts we develop and which we decline. It shapes how we approach illustration direction, cover design, and interior layout. It shapes how we write, how we edit, and how we position each title for the families and communities it is meant to serve.
We do not publish books to fill a catalog. We publish books because we believe that the right book, in the right child’s hands, at the right moment, can change a life — and through that life, generations.

Seeds of Light Publishing focuses on books that serve the faith formation of children, families, and communities. Our current catalog includes:
Children’s Bible Storybooks
Our flagship Children’s Bible Series is designed as a multi-volume journey through Scripture — from the creation account in Genesis through the resurrection of Christ. Each volume is crafted to be read aloud as a family, accessible to young readers independently, and rich enough to sustain repeated engagement. In the Beginning (Book 1 of the series) is now available.
Holiday and Seasonal Books
Easter, Christmas, and other seasons of the Christian calendar deserve resources that honor their weight. Our He Is Risen Easter Coloring Book invites children to slow down in the resurrection story, engaging with the most important event in human history through the quiet, reflective act of coloring.
Journals and Devotionals
We believe in building habits of personal faith from an early age. Our devotional and journaling resources give children and families practical tools for daily engagement with Scripture — prayer prompts, reflection questions, and space to record what God is doing in their lives.

The books Seeds of Light publishes are not designed by committee or trend.
